The Equine Apprentice assists the Head of Riding and the Teacher of Riding with the operation of the stables at Knighton House School. Duties will include the daily care, welfare and provision of ponies.
The Equine Apprentice will undertake a program of work-based training and assessments leading to the achievement of the ‘Intermediate Apprenticeship in Horse Care’ with Kingston Maurward College, Dorchester.
- Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horse Care
- Functional Skills Level 1 (Maths and English)
- Level 2 Award in principles of Horse Care (BHS) / or Level 2 Award in Business for the Environment and Land-based sector
- Employment Right and Responsibilities (ERR)
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
Accommodation may be available for suitable applicants wishing to contribute to boarding life and extra curricular activities.
