Responsibility & Rewards
Pupils are given responsibilities early. Merits are awarded for excellent work, good behaviour and manners, musical skill and sporting prowess, organisational skills, extra effort or general helpfulness.

Girls gather Merits towards their Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond awards. On Speech Day each summer, academic, sporting and musical awards are presented.

Every pupil at Knighton belongs to one of four houses, named after the local woods: Broadley, Warren, Norton and Okeford. The house system is cheerfully competitive: there are inter-house matches, competitions and team challenges, and Sports Day on the lawns in the summer. The house cup is awarded at the end of each term (current holders: Warren).

The House Captains are members of School Council, which brings democracy and debate to Knighton. In the final year, prefects set an example to all the children through their leadership and initiative, responsibility and care. Every prefect has a responsibility for an area of school life. Each term a new Head Girl and Deputy are chosen.
