Music
When you arrive at Knighton, you almost always hear music. The school has a wonderful tradition of music and it plays a part in the lives of all pupils here. The whole school sings together at morning assemblies, in weekly hymn practice and at our Saturday church services.

All girls have two timetabled music lessons each week where they listen, perform and compose. The Booker Music School, named after our founders (both keen amateur musicians) is where all music tuition takes place.

Ten specialist instrumental teachers visit Knighton each week. Children are encouraged to play an instrument from Year 2 upwards. Each Friday morning we have music assembly, where soloists and groups perform for the school, and parents are welcome to join us.

Termly school concerts showcase the many ensembles (orchestra, Junior Choir, Chapel Choir, string, wind, clarinet and flute ensembles) and soloists. All pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5 sing in the Junior Choir, rehearsing each Monday lunchtime and performing regularly in the school concerts.
